Is 48 fairy cakes too many?

I promised James I would make some more fairy cakes for his colleagues at work (he took some in as an apology for not bringing in sweets after his holiday and now they keep asking when the next batch is..) the only thing is, I may have been a bit too enthusiastic..

Doubling the ingredients seemed like a logical thing to do for someone who once made a victoria sponge and ate so much mixture it became a cupcake. However, i wasn't in the mood for sickliness, and, as a result, i now have 48 cakes sat on the kitchen table..
