Why can't I leave things be?!?

I appear to have "broken" my website.. ahem..
I cannot help it, I have very little knowledge of CSS and as such I messed* with something** and now I don't know how to fix it!***
As a result, the site will look crap until James gets back from work and mutters about my ineptitude at programming..

the undo button has betrayed me!
even James can't work it out - apparently the code they give you for the background is crappy so have got to find new code! (he isn't in a great mood - was hoping to get him to write me some!)
oh well.. i will sort it! (how hard can it be to learn various languages in a short amount of time?!)
